Asher ****ADOPTED***
Sex: Male (Neutered)
Age: Adult
Weight: 56 lbs
Color: Black and White
You really can't help falling in love with this goofy young man as soon as you meet him! Asher is as much of a puzzle as he is a sweetheart. A Georgia transplant with little to no experience living in a home, every experience has been a new one for him...and come with some humorous results!
In the beginning: Vinyl floors are no problem when going North, passable going South but only with assistance, and turning East or West was impossible.
Now: we can trot both North and South with abandon, East isn't worth going towards and West is only useful if the door to the food room is open!
In the beginning: Being on a couch caused immediate inability to use legs - sprawling and belly rubs are a must.
Now: Ok, so this one is still true.
In the beginning: Food in a bowl cannot be touched but food on a plate is allowed with permission; licking the plate clean is not allowed.
Now: Bowls are good things and kibble is great! We're still not sure if licking the bowl is polite though.
In the beginning: The human must always go 3 steps in front when going through doors and gates. Stairs going outside are self-serve, stairs going into the house and to the basement always require permission of an attached leash merely touching a human.
Now: if foster sister can do it then so can I! We still prefer to wait for someone else to go first through doors and gates (most of the time) but stairs are a non-issue.
In the beginning: Cats are terrifying...and ticklish on the tummy.
Now: Cats are meh...but still ticklish on the tummy.
See? Goofy Goober! Asher is still a pretty mellow, submissive boy but each day as he gets healthier and more comfortable we get to see more and more of a playful, happy pup come out of this rough shell. He likes to romp around with his foster sister in the yard but quickly turns to other pursuits of smelling the flowers and listening to the birds sing. In the house you'll most often find him holding down a section of couch or the floor under the couch just watching the house move around him, only moving to give you room to sit with him or if you leave his sight. Out and about, you couldn't ask for better leash manners!
Asher has been officially cleared of his heartworm infection! Now on to rebuilding the stamina of this naturally low key young man. He's also just recently had a few broken teeth taken care of and a few pieces of BULLET removed from his jaw - souvenirs of a less than glamorous previous life - and has quickly bounced back to full health! The past is in the past, sweet boy, and your future is looking amazingly bright!
You won't find a more perfect companion than Asher. Don't miss out!
