Holiday - SEPR's busy bunny! ****ADOPTED ****
WARNING THIS PUPPY IS TOO CUTE!!!!
Holiday is a 8 month old 35lb female pit bull that was picked up as a stray in Kansas. The shelter felt she needed some basic training and without a rescue she would not be allowed leave. SEPR couldn't stand the thought of this young beauty being put to sleep. She has arrived in her new foster home and is learning all kinds of basic commands and obedience!
Holiday is a fun, silly, high energy, wiggle butt pit bull! She looks at the world through puppy dog eyes and everything is a new adventure for her. This beautiful girl always is looking for a new game, frisbees, agility, hiking, you name it - this girl will excel at it. Toys and balls are her favorite reward – she will work til she drops. Holiday is being taught proper introduction to her new human friends.. with sit being her reward for some well earned affection. She is also learning not to grab toys she wants but nicely take them. Holiday loves her squeaky toys. She likes to throw them up in the air and chase them. She likes to have her tummy scratched. She will stretch out as far as she can from head to toe to make sure you get every inch!
Holiday is completely housetrained and crate trained. At night she will collect all her toys and put them in her crate. Her foster parents do not close her in her crate at night, but she does choose to sleep in it with the door open. Holiday loves her walks and runs! She walks very well with a gentle leader and leash. Holiday does well in the car and loves to be a co-pilot. She has had some long journeys the last couple of months and was a great traveler and houseguest. She does not bark when she is in new surroundings or hears new sounds. She does have big goofy ears that stick up and is very cute when she turns her head to listen.
Holiday lives in a house that is ruled by cats. She is curious about the cats. She would like to play, but they are not as sure about her. She doesn’t go after them and always has her tail wagging. She has got close to the 16 year old cat and gotten a swat across the nose. This does not deter her from wanting to be friends though. Holiday has not been introduced to any canine friends yet, but would probably do best with a very laid back male since she has enough spunk for both!
Holiday’s one funny trait we have noticed while staying with us is that she likes to look at herself in the mirror. There is a full length mirror in her room. It has become a game she plays. She stops and looks at herself, and then we say, “Yes, you are a beautiful dog!” She then runs over to us with her tail wagging as if to say, “I know!” This fun young girl is going to be a great addition to an active family that wants a dog to be a part of every aspect of their lives. Do not wait around long to give this adorable girl the home that she has always deserved.
