Meet Moxy - He is handsome and smart so we are just not sure how this dog could have landed himself on death row in a city with a breed ban. Picked up as a stray and never claimed SEPR was happy to finally secure a foster home to pull this stud muffin to safety. Moxy is a character and is sure to charm the pants off anyone he meets.
Moxy is a big LOVABLE galute that doesn’t always know his own size and strength. He wants all the attention he can get and sometimes makes sure he’s the center of attention, if he already isn’t. His foster mother is working on manners to improve this and share the spotlight. Moxy does very well with his foster sister (a female pit bull) - they have a Big Sister, Little Brother relationship. They get along very well, but since he doesn’t know his size she gets a little irritated when he just wants to flop down on her or decides to step on her or walk across her, most of the time he just always wants to love and kiss her. When he’s not licking her, he will lick anyone within his long tongue’s reach. Moxy would do well in a home with a nice submissive canine companion to keep him company. Only dog...that would be right up his alley as well.. he could have all the lime light then! Moxy has been tested with a couple of felines and depending on the cat may be able to be in a home with a dog savvy cat and a breed familiar owner.
Moxy is super sensitive and is such a quick learner. He wants to please and is extremely eager to do so. Moxy already has some wonderful commands under his belt such as -sit, stay, get down, lay, and come..he is also working on kennel up. He is well on his way to being house trained and crate trained currently as well. This handsome man probably knew nothing previously but a life on a chain so learning the boundaries of being a real house dog will take some minor practice! Moxy is still working on car rides as he is a bit unsure of the car - that and the bathtub are the only things he is a little leery about. Moxy does not bark at all, tolerates his crate so well and is a gem to walk on leash with his gentle leader. He can get distracted out and about on his daily walks, but nothing a minor correction doesn't quickly get him trotting back along again.
Moxy is a huge cuddler and wants to be loved all the time, but he rewards with just as many kisses. He will make a fun companion for just about any family as he seems to take everything in stride. His eyes seem to look deep inside every ones heart and you cannot help but smile when you look at his big pitty smile. Moxy would have a blast in a family with children to be able to take care and keep him busy. Nanny dog at its best! Moxy may be the new kid on the block but we know his perfect family with find him quickly as he is such a keeper!!
