Peter "Parker" ***ADOPTED***
Sex: Male (Neutered)
Age: 3-5 years old
Weight: 65lbs
Color: Brindle and White
Good with dogs: Yes
Good with cats: Unknown
This super hero of a boy picked up his name from the Amazing Spider-Man. Peter 'Parker' is smart, funny, kind, handsome, loyal, AND he listens well! Sound like your dream man? It's because he is! Parker was one of three dogs rescued from Waterloo Iowa. He was 38lbs when he was found and proudly wears the scars on his ears from his previous life, that left him kitchen cropped and severely malnourished. He weighs 65lbs now and is finally back in tip top shape. He holds no human responsible for his ears and will love you for scratching that spot right behind them.
Parker is all boy! He loves playing tug of war and being chased around by his new pitbull foster sister. He would be a great addition as a full time brother to some lucky girl dog or as an only dog child where he could have ALL of your love and attention! Parker has been around his fair share of children, even though he doesn’t live with any full time. He thinks high energy 5+ year olds are great, because they run and can play ball and wrestle around with him. Sometimes he forgets just how big he is, or how strong his tail can be. Parker would be fine with a family with kids as long as the children are dog savvy and are past the “crawling and poking out eyeballs” stage of life.
He loves car rides and thinks the air conditioning/heating vents are the coolest. He is a great traveler though and he loves to go along whether it’s a 4hr drive or just running errands around town! Be careful when stopping at the drive thru coffee shop that hands out treats though, he will crawl right into your lap so that the nice people at the window can give HIM the treat directly! He loves to ride shot gun but he can always just take a nap in the back. It’s whatever you ask him to do! Fetching skills still need some work, he loves that you are throwing it for him, but we haven’t quite grasped “drop it.” He also loves frisbee but for Parker that is more of a solo sport, he can entertain himself for quite a while tossing the frisbee up in the air.
Parker is crate trained. Although, he would much rather snuggle with you on the couch than be in his crate! He will go right in and be so polite, as long as he knows there is something delicious waiting for him in his kong for kennel time! Parker is a pleaser, a smart, goofy, boy who only wants to make you proud of him. He caught on quickly to house rules. He will ask permission to eat, go outside, and to get on furniture. He even knows that to have a bone in the house, he has to eat it on an old towel that foster Mom specified as “his”.
He desperately wants to be part of your household forever. He would be a great companion for someone active, he loves going on long runs and ran his first 5K for breast cancer awareness this summer! Don’t get us wrong, as much as he loves to run and play, he is just as content to snuggle up next to you and sleep the day away. He is the perfect blend of playful puppy and lazy pit bull! Parker will mold into whatever you want him to be. Go for a hike? Sure!! Snuggle on the couch all day? Why not?! Watch you do the dishes or stroll through the neighborhood. Parker's your man. Ps- Parker has his own Facebook page! He always has new pictures going up and lots of wisdom to share!
