At the time I worked 2 jobs and while I was at my 2nd job I received a phone call that Pandora (Hannah) had went back to her previous owner. I don’t recall ever crying so much over a dog that wasn’t even mine. It took me awhile but I came to the realization that it was probably not meant to be at that time. Little did I know she would end up again at my friend’s house. I did not want to get my hopes up because of the hard time I had when she left the first time. The day she came back to their house turned out to be one of the best days of my life.
Nov 7, 2009 is when this girl officially (adoption papers signed) became mine. I took her to my mom’s 60th birthday party. That was the beginning of her going everywhere with me. At this party she was around many adults and kids she didn’t know. I brought a blanket and some toys with so she would be occupied while we were sitting there. My sisters youngest spotted her laying on her blanket and wanted to share it or I am pretty sure take it from her. As you can see she was ok with sharing but he wasn’t going to be able to run off with it. Pandora and my nephew get along so well whenever I bring her to their house one would think they grew up together.
Pandora has brought so much into my life I don’t know where to start, I feel like I have had her forever. Pandora goes everywhere with me and she especially likes the trips to the pet stores. She loves to be outside especially in the summer time. When we are at home she will sit in front of the patio door just waiting for me to let her out on the deck so she can lie down and bask in the sunshine. She loves going for walks and pays very close attention to her leash. When she sees her leash in my hand she knows she is going somewhere. Pandora has many friends. During the summer she gets to go to sand volleyball with me several times a week, I can tell she would rather be on the court with me then sitting on the side watching me. She also goes to outdoor bbq’s where she enjoys tearing around the yard with the other dogs (Dobermans, Rottweilers, Pit bulls and Labradors ).
I have never known a mellower and well tempered dog. She is more then content to just hang out at home with me on the couch or lay right beside me in bed when I read. She does tend to be a bed hog on occasion but give her a little shove and she will move over. She will on occasion give me a look that says really mom, don’t you have enough room already.
Pandora has several nick names: Pan Pan, Pancakes, Triple B, Squishy Face, Tank and Yoda.
I love this girl more then anything and am thankful I was able to adopt her. I could go on with more about the 2 of us but we could end up with a short story. I feel not only did I save her but she also saved me.
Thank you Sioux Empire Pit Bull rescue.
