~ Deb and Wilbur
Daisy has moved into our home & hearts for good. :) She has her own favorite toys which she will go get if you ask her to. She has a favorite blankie and rug, knows which kennel is hers, and has a good daily routine. She will ask for attention from Wilbur & me, and sometimes from visitors. When someone comes to the door, she goes with Doodle to investigate. If she is startled, we can bring her rig...ht out of it by asking Doodle to "sit." She knows a treat is probably involved, so she leaves her corner and races over to sit next to him. She will potty outside even if there is something going on (roofers at the neighbor's house, loud children...) that she doesn't like. It takes encouragement, but she will go. She is getting better about car rides, and even looks around instead of crouching on the floor. She sits every time you ask, which makes it easy to leash her up for potty or walks. She will lie down when asked as well. The sit is 100%. The down is at about 95%. She steals socks. :) Doesn't chew them up, just steals them to see if I notice them in her pile of toys. Sometimes she steals Doodle's favorite toy and adds it to her pile. She is so pleased with herself when she successfully pulls off the heist. It's pretty comical. She rolls over to get me to scratch her belly. This was a biggie. Walking on her gentle leader has improved. She still doesn't walk well if Doodle doesn't go along, but that is okay for now. She still has a long road to travel to be a confident dog, but she is definitely content and happy.
