Even though I’ve never heard her voice or heard her call my name, I still know my momma and love her very much. I think she loves me even more. As you all remember, I am deaf and my mom is SO patient with me. After all this time, we are finally able to communicate. I think it’s funny that she still talks to me because I can’t hear, but I do appreciate the attention. I pretty much know what she wants me to do and she has signs for me to understand her. I know what she means when she does these funny things with her hands. One way means sit, another stay. I know others like potty, food, relax/enough, and when I’m testing her patience. And believe me, I like to test them. I like to be awnry and naughty at times, but no matter how awnry I get, she still gives me hugs and kisses after she lets me know I was naughty. I can’t get enough of her either…I always have to touch, cuddle, or lick her. She won’t admit it, but she loves my pittie kisses. Every morning, I wake her up by snuggling up to her and our favorite thing to do is nap together.
At my house, I get spoiled. Mom gets me so many toys, even when she knows I’m going to destroy them in minutes. My personal record is about four minutes. We learned a while back that I have a sensitive tummy, so she was nice and got me special food and treats that I take. We also found out that I have allergies, so my mom is super nice and sneaky because puts my pills in this special food and I think it is GREAT!!! I can’t get enough. She even got me special bones to chew on in my crate while she is away, so I don’t get so bored. She’s the best! We go for walks all the time and she even bought my some really cool clothes to wear outside, so I don’t get too cold. Coming from California, I’m still getting used to all the snow. Mom even lets me have sleepovers. We’ve had Tux, Carter, and Perrywinkle over. I have a few friends in the neighborhood, too that I get to hang out with. I like to play with others a lot. Sometimes she has to remind me of my manners and to settle down.
I just wanted to let you all know how I’m doing and let you know that I am SO happy here. I couldn’t ask for a better mom and I wish all the other dogs that SEPR helps get just as good of a home. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you for helping me find my mom…I know she is committed to helping other dogs to find their moms/dads/families, too.
