Now almost 9 months later, we have become so close and it's amazing how she has come out of her shell. Savannah follows me everywhere and just wants to be with me all the time. And I find that as I'm driving home from work, I can't wait to see her. When I walk in the door, she comes running, tail wagging like crazy and making the cutest little whimper noises because she is so excited to see me. What an awesome feeling! Savannah loves to go for walks, lay in the sun and to just sit outside watching what's going on in the neighborhood. She loves meeting people and other dogs when we're out and has even met a couple dog buddies that she can wrestle with. She loves car rides, although she doesn't stick her head out the window like most dogs (which is fine with me!). We've even found that sometimes she gets special treats when we go to a drive up window!
At first I had a couple of family members who were a little apprehensive of me adopting a pit bull. But Savannah loves to go visiting and it didn't take long for her to win them over with her calm and laid back demeanor. She's been great with all my nieces and nephews and everywhere we go, kids come running to pet her. She is so patient and mellow; she just sits there and lets them give her attention. I get compliments all the time on how beautiful and well-behaved she is.
It has been quite a year since Savannah and I received the best Christmas gift ever...each other. I can't imagine life without her now and I am so happy that we found each other!!! Thanks to Rachel, Robin and Stephanie for all your help and continued interest in how Savannah and I are doing together!
