Last week, the lady took Ike and I to this awesome place that I'd never been before. It had trees, grass, rocks, and water. The lady let Ike and I run around without having our leashes on. She said that was only because we were out in the middle of nowhere and no other dogs were around.
We followed this path to the top of a big hill. The lady was kinda slow getting there, so Ike and I had to... keep running back down to make sure she was gonna make it. Maybe when you only have 2 legs you can't go as fast? Anyway, it was so cool. So many things to check out. I smelled all kinds of different critters that had been there. Some of them must have been pretty big! Sometimes I wandered off to do a little exploring on my own, but when the lady called my name I would take off like a shot to find her. Whenever she calls my name, it means something good is going to happen. Sometimes it's a pat on the head, but when it's a treat, look out. I love treats. She's so unpredictable with what she may have, I just have to check it out when she calls.
When we got back down the hill we went over and found the water for a little drink and to cool our toes off. That was kinda neat. My favorite part was the mud squishing between my toes. One time I saw something in the water and chased it. Before I knew what was going on, I couldn't feel the squishy mud anymore. So I kept trying to run. The lady clapped and cheered and said I was swimming. I didn't even know what that was let alone be able to do it. It really is crazy the things you just do without even knowing it.
Ike and I both got baths when we got back to the ladies house. I don't mind having a bath. Just means I get a whole lotta rubbing. Ike, not so much. I think that has been my favorite place the lady has taken me. I hope we get to go back again. I could spend the whole day there exploring. I hope when I find my family that they will take me to places like that.
