The lady and I went for a walk today. She said that we need to get them in now because soon it will be winter. I don't exactly know what that means, but by the look on her face when she said it, I don't think I'm gonna like it. Something about being cold. Man, I've lived outside in the cold and I didn't like it one bit. The lady keeps bringing this other dog home. She says he is her old man. I even heard her say she's had him longer than the 2 legged boy! She calls him Ricky, but he can't hear her. Something about when you get old you can't hear or see so well. I must not be very old then, cause I can see and hear everything. The lady calls it "alert".
We've had lots of different 4 legged critters live with us. At first, it kind of makes me jealous, so we have slow introductions. We kind of learn to get used to having the other dog around. Sometimes I stay in my crate or in the kitchen away from the newbie. Then after a few days when the intruder is not so intrusive, the lady puts my leash on and we go out in the backyard and size one another up. Sometimes if I get a little sassy, the lady squirts me with water. It reminds me that I need to behave and use my good doggy manners. I just don't want to be forgotten about. The lady assures me that she is not going to forget about me and that she has enough love in her heart for all of us. She's the best.
Our first foster pal was Blaze. He was quite the looker. We liked to run and play. He found a home in July. Then came Petunia. She was a bit more of a challenge. Sometimes we girls get into little disagreements. That's why if we get adopted to a family with another dog it needs to be the opposite gender. We were good buds though. She got adopted in September. So as you can see, it's my turn!
The lady tells me to be patient, that my turn will come and my family will find me.
