Meet our gem of a girl, Sapphire! She was found abandon in a dump yard. Tied with no food, water, or shelter in the middle of the summer heat SEPR was not about to let this gem be thrown away like the trash. We cannot imagine why anyone would have left this great girl. She has already won over everyone's hearts with her stellar personality.
From Sapphire’s great attitude and good manners, you would never know that she was once left abandoned at a dump site. Sapphire has clearly been a mama many times over, but we’ve taken care of that and now she’s ready to spend the rest of her life being YOUR puppy!
Sapphire will crack you up with her “sit pretty”—her natural response to the sit command. She knows other commands, too! Miss smarty pants can also shake, lay down, stay, and more. She is kennel and house trained and accepts that she has to wear her gentle leader to go outside and meet new friends. Sapphire does like to "racewalk" on her walks, but her foster family is teaching her to slow down, heel, and enjoy the scenery. On the other hand, Sapphire could be a great jogging buddy!
Sapphire does not currently live with other canine companions, and can be a bit bossy with her friends. She probably could learn to live with a nice laid back boyfriend if she had a strong pack leader. Cats on the other hand Sapphire pays them no attention. Overall, this hot tamale just loves people and would rather be with a human than anything else!
Sapphire LOVES car rides—you don’t have to ask her twice! She will hop right into a car and sit shotgun like she owns it. She loves riding around town with her nose sticking out the window to catch all the good smells. She isn’t even bothered by other animals passing by during her rides—what a great co-pilot! Sapphire also loves her toys, especially her wubba and her soft cuddly ones. She has a special butterfly toy that is her favorite along with her squeaky wubba. She is learning how to play Frisbee and catch with her foster family.
Speaking of her foster family, Sapphire lives with children and loves them like a true family dog. While she’s fine sleeping in her kennel, she would prefer to share a bed with the smallest members of the family—sleeping curled up at their feet. Sapphire has greeted every visitor with her tail wagging and loves to show off by sitting pretty. This happy, friendly girl with the striking eyes is ready to be part of someone’s family today!
