Triton is a 2 year old male pit bull. He was picked up a stray and was never claimed. What a LOOKER!!!
He's SEPR’s 50 pound cuddlebug! If you are looking for a boy who loves to snuggle, Triton’s the one for you. He loves to sleep curled up behind your knees and enjoys his scratches on the head between the ears. Watch out, though—if his nose gets cold, he will push it into your armpit to warm it up!
Triton has been learning what living as part of a family is all about. He knows the commands “sit” and “no” and will
kennel for a treat. Once in his kennel he will rest quietly. In fact, his foster family has yet to hear him bark—but he does have the most endearing noise he makes when he yawns and stretches. Since he doesn’t bark, he has alternate ways of communicating with his humans: to show he’s hungry, he will knock his bowls around on the floor, and to tell you he’s ready to play fetch he will begin throwing his toy to himself.
At 2 years old, Triton does still have a bit of puppy in him still. He will occasionally have an accident in the house, but he always thoughtfully covers it up with a sock or other article of clothing so you don’t have to see it! He overestimates the amount of speed he needs to get from point A to point B, resulting in hilarious crashes into furniture and walls.
Triton lives with an elementary-aged child and his foster home also has frequent toddler visitors. He does well with all of them and enjoys following them around. Triton has especially bonded with his foster dad and seems to really enjoy cuddle time with him!
Triton is learning how to walk nicely on his gentle leader and not pull.We are unsure of how he would do with cats.
Like many pitties, Triton needs a slow introduction to other dogs before he’s sure that they’re ok. Triton would do well with the right calm, submissive female in the house with him. He enjoys car rides but is not as fond of baths—he seems to be a little scared of the water. However, he doesn’t whine or bark and puts up with the bathing like a champ. Triton’s favorite toys are stuffed animals and a peanut butter kong. Do you have a place on your couch and in your heart for this sweet boy?
