I go by the name of Ulysses, just like the 18th president of the United States of America. Weird that my name is represented by a leader of a great country, and I am consider the American breed.
As Ulysses B. Grant said “My failures have been errors in judgment, not of intent.” So instead of judging me, how about I get the facts all out, and hopefully I will be the dog that completes your home.
I am a red golden boy, a little on the taller side. I have a head tilt that will hold your heart forever…wait forever? That is exactly what I am looking for. So you can stop reading, and pick me if you are looking for forever as well!!!
Okay, jokes aside… and on to the real biography.
Foster family is telling me that they enjoy having me around. It might be because I am a giant goof ball 24/7 when I am out of my crate. I tend to think that I walk like a model, but the ole’ foster family says I gallop like a teenage boy with no hand-eye coordination. Foster Dad said he isn’t going to fix my hand-eye coordination problem, because he like the smile I give him. He does say that I will be a smart boy for when I pick my forever family. I know look, and sit very well. Especially when the humans have a delicious treat waiting in their hand. I am working on lay as we ruff, which is coming around faster than foster dad anticipated.
The crate isn’t a problem, nor is it my favorite place. Who would enjoy being locked up when there are so many other things my social self could be doing. I do walk into the crate nicely. Real nice when I see a treat or if foster dad has a bowl full of those brown circles. I make a little noise at first, but settle in rather quickly. I don’t try to break out or bark, I do a little whining. Once I figure out Foster Dad isn’t going to give in I lay peacefully. He told me that we are improving every day, and he is very happy with me where I am at now with the training.
I respect your house, your carpet, but not your toilet …free water anyone? Kidding, but speaking of toilet, I have yet to make my foster family’s house or my own crate a bathroom. Foster Dad is very pleased with that – he must not like to bend over, or maybe it is the smell of four legged movements.
This is all I can tell you at this point gang, as I am still a little fresh into the SEPR program. I am going to gallop and see what else foster dad has to show me. Check back periodically for updates. I know one is going to be how I ride in cars, or if I like the golf cart. I notice Foster Dad got a thing called a kayak… looks fun, but I haven’t rode in it yet. I will let you know as soon as I get a chance!!!!
