Mustang Sally came into our care in October of 2011. She had been in a high-kill shelter in Kansas City and had a litter of puppies in the summer, was frightened and hormonal. I honestly didn’t think I would ever be able to love her as much as I did Abbie.
In May of 2012, Mustang Sally joined the McLaughlin family forever. We did love her as much as Abbie…in a different way. It was so amazing to take her home after we signed the papers…..she knew! She was ours and oh so happy – she jumped on the bed and just smiled!
One of the reasons we adopted her was to give her security –she had been through so much already…thrown away after being a breeding machine….that we just felt she needed us. In truth, it was mutual…we needed her also.
Sally is such a joy! She loves car rides and is always ready for an adventure!!! She puts up with the “boss”, our miniature Schnauzer, Scout. They truly are like brother and sister!
If you want to make her day, pull out the leash and gentle leader (well not so much the gentle leader) but a walk is always a special time for her. She trots around the neighborhood so proud!
It is not rare for us to wake up and she is actually sleeping on our pillow with us….snoring and content. It is a good thing she keeps us warm, otherwise…..LOL! Yah, right!!
We feel so blessed to be able to have Ms. Sally in our lives and still be able to foster and save others.
Thank you, SEPR.
Mustang Sally and the
McLaughlins…..forever!
