I had contacted SEPR and said I was looking for a pit bull that was great with children, and what I have adopted is the best dog I have ever had. Sarah is the most loving dog to me and my daughter. Those two are inseparable and we are too. She loves going for car rides and walks. I would like to thank SEPR for all they have done for my family!

With the holidays and Thanksgiving fast approaching, we at SEPR wanted to send out a huge thank you for all that our foster families do for us! Without their tireless efforts to foster, train, and help place our wonderful dogs the program would be nothing. We know how many hours are sacrificed, and we appreciate their dedication and love for this misunderstood breed. 2010 has truly been a great year for the rescue, SEPR has successfully placed 15 dogs in their forever homes and we still have a month to go. *Paige, our 10 year old retiree gal, is doing wonderfully with her new mom and being doted on as an older gal should be in life. *Our crazy summer pups, Buddah now Jake and Janice Joplin, have two wonderful families that have spent much time and training to raise them as great breed ambassadors. *Sasha, who was in rescue a long time, is now living with a retired family in MN and loving life as an only pet, which is how she always wanted it to be. * Sarah also was adopted by a single dad and gets to sleep each night with his 7 year old daughter, and is also loving being the only pet! *Our wonderful Sully Bear from the Missouri 500 crew is thriving in his vibrant and busy family- - he is loving having children around that entertain him and has even become the family mascot for football games. *Bella, now Bobbie, is running around a large farm with another male pit bull (Smiley) -they are great friends! *Lana was lucky enough to be adopted by the same great family that adopted Buddah/Jake, and they now enjoy long walks and play time with their owner ' s grandchildren. *Rocky hit the jackpot as well, and was adopted by Janice Joplin's family- - the pups have a great time enjoying the backyard and rolling around for hours. *Gorgeous was adopted by a father looking for a cuddle partner for his daughter and is loving her new family. *Chance, our big brute of a dog, was adopted into a great family that laughed at all his clownish antics. Sadly, he passed away last month from complications of babesia. Chance is gone but will forever be remembered in our hearts. *Diamonds foster family fell in love-- and one of their children decided to make her a permanent addition to their family! *More recently, Sadie went to a wonderful family that is waiting on her every need and she is enjoying her new long daily walks. *Magic will soon be in her new forever home as well. She will be joining two other dogs by a couple in North Dakota. She will enjoy long walks on the farm and napping in the recliner with her dad. Yes- - thanks to all of you we have so much to be thankful for this year. We know sometimes fostering can be difficult, tiring, trying - -however the rewards you receive in the interim are priceless! Happy Thanksgiving and make sure you save a little special time for your pit bull, because remember .... not every dog is lucky enough to have a devoted family such as yourselves. Much love and Happy Holidays , SEPR- |
