Little did I know what this little girl had in store for me. September came around, my world had been shaken by a horrible break up, it was one of the worst times in my life until one day I was driving down tenth street and passed that billboard again. Bored at work I looked at the webpage again and saw the unimaginable, Ruby hadn't been adopted! So I called my landlord at 8am and got my references and had my application submitted that day.
I'll never forget the moment I saw Ruby for the first time, going to my first SEPR meet and greet (one I didn't think Ruby was going to be at) and there in the very back corner was Ruby. Already emotional from a breakup and seeing Ruby for the first time I looked at her and knew "that's my dog".
We're just two single girls living the dream these days! Even in the dead of winter after a twelve hour night shift Ruby would be ready to play fetch so we did just that, fetch year round through rain snow and sunshine :) Ruby is an exceptional snuggler, literally becomes glued to your side come bedtime and they're the best pup snuggles a dog mom could ask for. She doesn't just bring joy to my life but I can truly say she touches the hearts everyone she meets.
This rescue turned princess wants for nothing these days with a lot of doggie toys and endless supply of tennis balls for fetch and her newest addition her doggie life jacket for boating this summer.
It's true what they say "dogs have a way of finding the people who need them...and filling an emptiness we never knew we had".
